The country’s AI ecosystem unites a diverse community of startups, corporates, research institutions and public players committed to developing responsible and impactful AI solutions. How high-demand occupations can fast-track your relocation
Relocating across borders is a life-changing opportunity but does not come without challenges. Would it not be great if part of the process could be a little easier? If you work in one of the above occupations, that is a real possibility. Luxembourg offers streamlined procedures to both employers and candidates in such high-demand roles.
The benefits mostly pertain to non-EU nationals, otherwise referred to as third-country nationals. Whereas EU nationals are free to live and work in Luxembourg with a certificate of residence and work contract regardless of occupation, third-country citizens have additional requirements (some on the employer; some on candidates). This is true across Europe.
However, in high demand occupations, employers are exempt from the standard labour market test, which typically requires checking for suitable candidates already present in Luxembourg. Instead, ADEM issues the necessary labour certificate within five working days, thus expediting the job search process. Once the labour certificate is obtained and an international candidate is identified, the work visa and residence permit application proceeds as normal.
Schemes like these are part of several that Luxembourg has created to ease the international relocation journey for qualified talent. With in-demand skills, supportive relocation procedures, and a vibrant job market, Luxembourg could be more than just a career move. It could be your next adventure.
